Split Foto Salon is an international photo competition organised by Photo club Split. Photo club Split was founded in 1911 and is therefore one of the oldest organised photography associations in the broader regional area. Photo club NGO has been running Photo gallery in the City of Split centre (Marmontova 5) since 1952, and for over 70 years in continuity, they have exclusively been exhibiting photo exhibitions. Since 2013, Photo club Split Photo gallery has been under the protection of Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media as a cultural good because of the utmost importance that the Photo club Split holds within the context of Croatian and European photography history, as well as the support it offers for local photographers as they are trying to reach recognition.

THEMES:

Photos can be submitted in the digital form in three different themes:

– OPEN in colour

– OPEN in black and white

– MOVEMENT in colour or black and white

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:

The international photo competition “SPLIT FOTO SALON 2023” is public and open to amateurs and professionals from around the world and can be accessed by all authors over the 18 years of age.

– Photos must be in JPG format, prepared in 300 dpi resolution, minimum size 3000 pixels per longer side

– Photos can only be sent by e-mail via WeTransfer (insert the link within the application) at splitfotosalon@gmail.com

The application should contain:

– Name and surname of the author, adress

– Photo titles

– Link with photos (please do not send photos individually in the e-mail)

– Each photo can be submitted in only one of the given themes of the competition

– An individual author can submit four photographs per each theme

– Each photo should have a unique title. The title of the photo should be identical to the one that will be used in the catalogue. Photo titles such as “Untitled” or generic automatic names provided by the camera (e.g. IMG4422.jpg) are not acceptable, and thus titled works are going to be disqualified.

– Photos mustn’t visibly contain the authors name or their logo

COPYRIGHT

By applying, the photographer confirms that he is authorized to enter the “SPLIT FOTO SALON 2023” competition and that they will abide by the rules of the Competition and other rights related to authorship and ownership of submitted works, moral and copyright rights, rights of depicted persons, names, trademarks and other works of art in the picture and that no additional conditions or permissions are required to publish these photos.

By participating, the photographer gives the organizers of the photo competition the irrevocable and unlimited right to use the submitted photos without any compensation for the purpose of promoting “Split foto salon”. Thus, the photographer agrees to the time, space, measurement and the unlimited quantity of display of his submitted photographs at the exhibition, reproduction of exhibited photographs for marketing and promotion, discussions, publishing on websites, press releases, specializing publications, social networks and other media, in any electronic, print or other media for the purpose of promoting this competition and the organizers of the competition “Split foto salon”.

By participating, the photographer confirms that the uploaded photos are not subjected to the rights of third parties; in particular that all persons shown agree to the said use and that this does not infringe the rights of protection of personal data of third parties. All works published in this competition must be free from third party rights and other rights related to intellectual property, right to privacy, right to use personal photographs, etc. The organizers of this competition are not responsible for any third party claims related to violation of such rights.

The organizers are free, at their own discretion, to disqualify submitted works that could violate aforementioned rights and to prevent the participation of the photographer who submitted those works.

25 photos will be chosen for each category, which will be shown at the exhibit, and additional 15 photos which will be projected on screen.

PARTICIPATION FEE:

· Croatian citizens: 15 €, printed catalogue included 22 €                                            

· Foreign citizens 20 €, printed catalogue included 30 €

Participation fee is mandatory for all participants

Personal information protection

By applying to photography competition and by uploading the photos, the author gives permission to the organisers to collect, process and store personal information to carry out the competition and organize the exhibitions. The data will be used for identifying the photographs and for giving notice about the competition results, opening the exhibition, and the awards given to authors. Collected data shall not be disclosed to third parties.
